Watercolor portrait + updates on life

Here's a portrait I just did for Martha's watercolor class. I'm really lackadaisical in that class. Despite it being near the end of the semester I still can't wrap my head around watercolors. I'm clashing with Nathan Fowkes style (which I admire a lot and I'm not very good at it) and traditional watercolor. Either that or I'm treating the paint like oil or watercolor.

On to the personal stuff. Things are beginning to fall into place or so it seems. I'm wary and accustomed to things going wrong or an obstacle appears. I'm heading back to my parents to prepare for the journey to Korea (I haven't applied, but I'm on schedule). My classes are finally starting to dwindle down and I can focus on the important classes such as the studio classes. Kern river kayaking trip in a week so I'm looking forward to that. It's always fun to try and not die.

Sarcasm and such.

Here's a piece I did this semester for Mark's class. It actually got selected for the "Insights" show for the campus. The concept is "Sarcasm" and it was derived from the series of questions that everyone was given. I was anonymously given someone else's survey and the impression was whoever this was a sarcastic smart-ass. Don't get me wrong, sarcasm is funny, but it's killing the art of conversation. It's a combination of ink, water color washes, graphite and digital coloring.

On a side note; there's so many things to take care of and I'm set on finishing them.

Threadless submission(s) + blurby blurb

So I just submitted my Threadless submission and I'm waiting for the pending process, which w(h)ill probably take a few days. (Design above)

I have a bit of work I still need to upload but here are some previous designs for threadless to whet your appetite.

I dunno whether or not I should put anything on my mind on this blog. I've been told I don't let people in. Ho-hum.
